In the 1970´s, IMPSA began a process of constant evolution within the cranes and material handling equipment and services market which eventually leads the company to reach a firm position as one of the most solid suppliers worldwide.

Profiting from its capacity to produce large, valuable, high technology capital goods, IMPSA Port Systems (IPS), as we are known today, has supplied equipment, for loading and unloading Panamax, Post-Panamax and Super-post-Panamax container ships, bulk materials unloaders, bridge cranes, multipurpose cranes and gantry cranes for customers all over the world. Our scope of service has also broadened to Operations and Maintenance, Refurbishment, Supplying Second Hand Equipment, Relocation of Equipment, Sale of Spare Parts, Consultancy, Information Technology, Electronic Control System Integrator and Training Programs.

CAPABILITIES
The participation of IPS in competitive international markets has had an explosive growth, having delivered over four hundred cranes and, among them, more than one hundred for ports, to countries such as Argentina, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, USA, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Philippines and Taiwan. This important worldwide presence is achieved by an efficient design work, catering to customer needs and by the use of the most advanced technology available.
IPS has a special division devoted to the design of cranes. The line of products includes:

• Cranes for Nuclear Power Plants of up to a capacity of 750 TN capacity and 41 m clearance, with walk - in type main girder design.
• Traveling crane for steel mills with capacities of up to 180 TN and girder length of 50 m.
• Gantry cranes for hydroelectric power plants of up to 525 TN capacity and 27 m of hook clearance to the ground.
• Traveling crane for Hydroelectric Power Plants of up to 380 TN capacity and 35 m clearance.
• Gantry multipurpose crane for general cargo handling, bulk cargo handling and container handling, with outreachs of more than 45 m with capacities of up to 40/50 TN.
• Ship to Shore cranes for container handling with a 53 m seaside reach, a distance between rails of 30 m and a 50 TN capacity.
• Level Luffing multipurpose gantry cranes for general cargo handling, with a capacity of 16 TN at a 30 m outreach.
• Grab unloaders for bulk cargo handling, with a capacity of 1500 TN / hour.
• Refurbishment of cranes, drives systems, crane monitoring , etc.
• Relocation of cranes
• Drive Systems
